In "The Greek Interpreter", Dr. Watson said Sherlock's grandmother was the sister of the French painter Horace Vernet (1789-1863). Sherlock left steamer trunks with one of his Verner cousins in France, my ancestor. The steamer trunks are full of files and here is the introduction to those files.

Go to Sherlock's Bishopgate of Great Price
In "The Sign of Four", Dr. Watson mentions a lecture Sherlock presented at Scotland Yard on the 'Bishopgate jewel case'. This is the adventure Dr. Watson wrote concerning the case. The great Saint Pope Pius X hired Sherlock for this affair. It's the most singular story I have found so far.

Go to Sherlock's Fashoda Incident in Sudan
Dr. Watson said Sherlock visited Sudan, wrote, "Report of a Visit to the Khalifa at Khartoum" and submitted it to the Foreign Office. The report is attached to and referenced in this case I found.
